WHAT IS MEDIATION?

Mediation is the best way of resolving many kinds of disputes. Compared to litigation, mediation can produce superior and lasting solutions for much less cost and time, money and emotional stress. Mediation is being used to resolve disputes in business, workplace, health, family, international complex and cases spending levels in the legal system. Some mediations involve only the mediator and the parties, other can include legal representation. The process involves confidential conversations and negotiation assisted by a skill and impartial mediator. The flexibility in direct nature of mediation allows focus on the court issues of dispute and takes into account the unique personalities, needs and interests of the parties and their representators. The contact develops understanding encloser on sensitive issues. In mediation, the parties are retaining control of the outcome, not the judge or the jury. Mediation’s issues can be dressed and resolved before they escalating to more serious problems or to more costly legal actions. In many cases, agreements maybe achieved in a few ours, even complex litigator and policy matters, involving multiple partners, attorneys and others, can be resolved in a few days. The choice of mediator for a particular case is important. Mediator’s style, knowledge and approach can help greatly.

In December 2010, the Greek Government have passed the legislation on “Mediation in civil & commercial disputes” (Act 3898/2010).
